Leg

Legs represent our connection to the ground, reality, and our ability to move. (See also Foot and Shoe.) If one dreams that one has difficulty walking, injured one's foot, or have pain in one's leg, it may indicate that personal development is hindered—one is having trouble moving forward.

Social Freedom

Legs can also symbolize our social opportunities; traditionally, we have always walked to meet others, gone to visit people, and so on. The legs give us the ability to participate in social life, and the legs of the entire community express, so to speak, its cohesion.

Control

Power and control are expressed in exaggerated marching steps, and one who stands with his feets apart manifests a kind of strength—values that recur in the symbol of Pants.

Strength

We are strong in our legs, with large thigh muscles, and can walk long distances, run quickly, and kick hard. Injured legs make us weak and perhaps dependent.

Stance

Just like feet, legs can indicate one’s stance, what we stand for, and in dreams reflect whether we are standing firmly, standing on our own legs, and so forth.

Not Using the Legs

Thus, our legs can express masculine values such as control, strength, and stance. Not using one’s legs may therefore suggest the opposite—humility, adaptability, and openness. If the dreamer is sitting on the ground or even lying down, he or she do not, so to speak, need to use his or her legs, but instead set aside the masculine principle and take on a more humble and open attitude.
