Jungle

The jungle is deep, dark, and unknown, and surely symbolizes the unconscious, the uncivilized yet natural parts of ourselves. More than anything, the jungle grows—a never-ending, flourishing green (cf.). But unlike a Northern European forest, the jungle is hardly a place one wants to or can stay in for an extended period; it is less hospitable, more dangerous.
