Crater

The Greek word krater means "vessel" (where wine and water are mixed); specifically, the water-filled krater is an image of the transformative vessel. Zosimos advises his friend to baptize himself in the water of the crater. There is an alchemical text called "The Crater"; it tells of a crater that is filled with "spirit," and so on.
