Flint

Flint is imbued with a magical quality as it is used to strike sparks. In alchemy, flint is referred to as "a stone with a spirit" and is considered a variant of the philosopher's stone. Its ability to create a spark from nothing symbolizes the union of opposites.

In North America, flint served as a symbol for various savior figures and represented a god on earth. In Norse mythology, the thunder god Thor was said to have a piece of flint in his forehead.
