Yellow

The color yellow is broadly associated with the sun, gold, and enlightenment. Yellow can never darken and possesses divine qualities. In alchemy, yellow often represented the final stage of the process.

On the negative side, yellow is connected to decay and transience—yellowing leaves, yellowing paper, teeth, toenails; what is diseased or "bad" often takes on a yellow hue. Historically, a yellow flag signaled plague, and even today, the color is used to warn of contagious risks, radioactive materials, electrical voltage, and so on; essentially, deadly dangers that are invisible. (Compare Sulfur.)

Finally, yellow is the color of intuition in Jung's typology (Psychology of Yoga and Meditation, p. 127).
