Meat

Meat is food that comes from animals. It can carry sexual connotations, as illustrated by the expression "young meat" (referring to a younger romantic partner). However, it is often consumed because it is particularly satisfying, associated with fundamental human needs and desires, perhaps with a hint of animalistic undertones. (See also Consumption.)

Alchemy

In alchemy, meat (caro) is a synonym for prima materia and, when "the tender meat" is brought to life, represents the secret substance, "and thus Mercury." (CW 14, par. 11.)
