Ten

Ten, like one hundred, represents numbers of completeness and fulfillment—a completed cycle.

The number consists of one, two, three, and four, each of which holds strong symbolic meaning. According to the Turba philosophorum (cited in Aurora Consurgens, p. 254), whose account is typical of archetypal thought regarding numbers, counting begins with One, the masculine and unified source from which everything originates; then comes Two, which is feminine; Three is masculine; Four is feminine. "The completion of all counting is thus Four, for Ten is perfected by Four," states the ancient source. "Beyond this," it concludes, "there is no counting and no knowledge."
