Wagon, Cart
The wagon or cart can symbolize the "structure of consciousness," as it is made by humans to serve a conscious purpose. Both in mythologies and ceremonies, it is common to see gods or divine images in wagons, just as alchemists envisioned the Mercurius-serpent driving a chariot. According to von Franz (Animus and Anima in Fairy Tales, p. 116), it may be an expression of the idea that they can only incarnate in the "vessel of the ego-consciousness" of a human.
This and other images from, for example, folk tales suggest that the wagon was, among other things, an expression of the body, something we recognize in the contemporary dream symbol "car."
